Adrift

Out on the deep

Hovers the dove

Over chaotic sweep

Ruby flashes of blood
How can I bear

To see you this way?

Formless for fear

How do I pray?

It’s floating yet

And His footfalls drip near

Hope will protect

‘Til His voice you hear
Saying “Peace! Be still …”

Saying “Take My hand!”

Saying “Peace! Be still …”

Saying “Take My hand!”
Out on the calm

We’re awaiting the sun

A chromatic balm

to reveal

Who you’ve become

Faith was a feather

In the gale of the meek

Poor in spirit and tether

But bless’d are the weak
We’re floating yet

And His footsteps come close

His voice calls “Come!”

And the sunrise shows

Saying “Peace! Be still …”

Saying “Take My hand!”

Saying “Peace! Be still …”

Saying “Take My hand!”

And it came

To pass

And it came

To pass.
